Adequate colostrum intake and proper weight gain are crucial.

Your
horse is a direct refection of his genes, his
environment and the feed it consumes from
birth to an adult. Genetic potential will only
be realized if your horse receives all the
nutrients he or she needs in every stage of
development.
Foals must receive a diet adequate in
energy, protein, vitamins and minerals in
order to grow properly and achieve its full
genetic potential Foals will meet their
nutritional needs in their first two to
three months with mare's milk as long as the
mare is milking properly. In the third month
of lactation, the mare's milk production
drops whi le the foal's nutritional needs
keep increasing. Feeding the foal a well
conceived creep feed will make up the
difference.
High protein feeds that include high quality
protein sources are the best way to insure
high quality growth. That's why we recommend
Premier Select Horse formula for
your horses.
